SILHOUETTES BENEATH THE RAYS OF THE SUN
It’s 40 humidex. I’m on a street in downtown Montreal for my volunteer shift helping homeless teens. I’ve come from work overdressed and overwhelmed. I show up because they show up. One by one, they appear like silhouettes beneath the rays of the sun, knowing that when that sun sets, they will be left in the dark with nowhere to go. We rise by lifting others.
